Welcome to Clarence!

Message from the Head

I wish you a very warm welcome to Clarence International School; a preschool nestled right in the heart of Omotesando, Tokyo. Clarence International School is a school where confidence, curiosity and creativity are carefully nurtured.

Choosing the right school is a vital decision for the future of your child. Our motto 'Alis Grave Nil' perfectly describes our approach to teaching and learning. We encourage pupils to grow wings so that there are no limits to their learning and no obstacles they cannot overcome on their journey. The Early Years curriculum we employ sets high academic standards for our pupils whilst the emphasis on the arts and play-based learning ensures these standards are met through engaging, exciting delivery that encourages creativity, confidence and expression.

I hope this site serves as an introduction to our daily life here at Clarence International School, however the best way to fully experience our unique learning environment and wonderful community is to come and spend some time with us. Please feel welcome to call and arrange for a tour, it would be a pleasure to show you around.

I look forward to meeting you!

SUMMER SCHOOL 2021

This summer we are proud to bring to you our Holiday School programme "Where the Wild Things Are". Over the course of five exciting weeks, kids will spend time getting back to nature! We will run alongside the animals, creep with the crawlies through exotic plants and flowers, discover all about delicious fruits and foods and find out more about the most fearsome creatures of all...

Children who join us will spend each week exploring a new theme based on our natural world and even a final foray into the fantastical! This year our themes will cover: The Animal Kingdom, Fantastic Flora, Food Glorious Food, My Brilliant Body and Dinos, Dragons and Unicorns.

We hope that you will join us for a wonderful summer of amazing arts and action!

Spring Intensive Phonics Programme

This spring, Clarence International School will be offering a special 1-week Intensive Phonics Programme to enable pupils to solidify basic reading and writing skills . After completion of this programme, children will be better able to match sounds to letter strings and blend sounds together to read longer words. They will then use and reinforce this phonic understanding by writing their own texts, extending their knowledge and understanding of basic punctuation and grammar.
